Three things are necessary to begin:

Minecraft Account Minecraft Server Software No-IP Account Account Minecraft Server Software No-IP Account

You’ll require an Minecraft account to connect to the server and to allow you to play. If you don’t have an account, you can create one here.

Step One: You’ll first need to download the Minecraft Server software package hosted here and then start the server.

Step 2: Configuring and installing the Minecraft Server. Follow the instructions for your operating system by clicking on the link below.

Step Three When everything is done then you can move on to the next step.

Step Three: Port Forwarding will need to port forward port 25565 to the IP address of your server within your router.

Portforward.com can assist you with port forwarding. There you can enter the make and model number of your router and the device/application/software you wish to forward. The site will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how you can properly portforward your router.

After completing port forwarding, go to www.portchecktool.com to check if port 25565 is open. If it is, you’ll get a “Success!” message.

You can also find additional port forwarding support in our General Port Forwarding Guide.

You’ll need to confirm that we’re connecting your hostname to the correct external IP address. You can check your current IP address by, once again, visiting www.portchecktool.com from the network’s location.

Step Four: You need to set up a system to keep No-IP up to date with your dynamic public (external) IP address. There are many ways to accomplish this.

First download our Dynamic Update Client. The client should be running all the time at your network’s location. It will monitor your IP address every five minutes, and when it finds that it has changed it will update the change with No-IP.

You can also determine whether devices on your network support No-IP for Integrated DNS updates. Some devices that include No-IP for Dynamic DNS are Camera systems or routers. Be yourself; everyone else is already taken eliminates the need to download Dynamic Update Client.

Step Five You should now be able connect to your server. You can also invite your friends to connect. Simply give them the hostname and port number. For example, “hostname.domain.com:25565”.
